HYROX – The World Series of Fitness Racing – is the global sport that combines running & functional fitness into one unique competition format. Founded in Germany in 2017, HYROX is now a worldwide fitness movement with events across 5 continents and tens of thousands of athletes taking part each season.
The HYROX North America team is looking for a Merchandise Operations Manager US & Canada located in Chicago, to join our growing U.S. organization! With over 80 races planned globally for the 24/25 season, this role is critical to scaling HYROX’s merchandise and direct sales operations across the U.S. and Canada.
You will take full ownership of our on-site retail presence at HYROX events across North America – from store setup and sales execution to logistics and team leadership. This role reports directly to the General Manager North America and collaborates closely with global operations and merchandise teams based in Europe. You will be the driving force behind ensuring a seamless customer experience, operational excellence, and increased merchandise revenue at every race.
Lead the development and scaling of HYROX’s merchandise and direct sales operations across North America
Plan, execute, and oversee on-site merchandise stores at HYROX events – including layout, staffing, and customer experience
Implement and manage logistics infrastructure, including warehousing, stock control, WMS systems, and distribution
Integrate global systems and processes to ensure consistency with HQ standards
Hire, train, and manage seasonal and part-time staff for events across multiple cities
Create and manage staffing plans based on event size and scope
Oversee vendor relationships for merchandise procurement, transportation, and equipment
Monitor and analyze sales data, inventory flow, and operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards at every event
Travel regularly to HYROX races across the U.S. and Canada to lead on-the-ground execution
5–8+ years experience in retail or merchandise operations, ideally within the sports, events, or pop-up retail space
Proven leadership experience managing teams in fast-paced environments
Strong logistics and inventory management knowledge; WMS implementation experience preferred
Familiarity with retail setup at live events or festivals
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
A hands-on, can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Proficiency in English required; Spanish language skills are a plus
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chicago, IL
Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) to support HYROX events on-site
