HYROX is a global sports event series that combines running and functional fitness training in a unique race format. Founded in Germany in 2017, HYROX has evolved into a worldwide fitness movement with events across five continents, attracting tens of thousands of athletes every season.

As the main point of contact and champion for adaptive athletes across the region, the Freelancer: Adaptive Liaison Manager EMEA plays a crucial role in creating an inclusive, safe, and fair race environment. Reporting to the Global Para Sports Manager, this position ensures every athlete is fully supported while maintaining consistent application of HYROX standards and rules.

In this role, you will handle complex adaptive queries, manage pre-race communication, confirm athlete eligibility, and collaborate closely with the HYROX Timing, Ticketing, and Sports Teams. Expect a commitment of approximately 8 - 10 hours per month, depending on race volume and specific athlete support needs.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regional Oversight: Coordinate with Timing, Ticketing, and Sports Teams for each race within the assigned region to confirm adaptive athletes are registered, categorized, and briefed. Ensure consistent application of the Adaptive Rulebook across all regional events.

  • Pre-Race Preparation: Communicate directly with adaptive athletes to confirm eligibility and division placement. Provide clear information on expectations, movement standards, and protocols. Ensure adherence to local legislation for accessible sport where necessary.

  • Race-Day Support: Remotely support the events by linking the Sports team with all adaptive athlete information. Assist with any special briefings to Head Judges and Race Directors on adaptive-specific rules and procedures.

  • Communication & Advocacy: Act as the primary liaison between adaptive athletes, the regional sports team, and the Global Adaptive Liaison. Champion community-building and adaptive athlete engagement across the region.

  • Process Improvement: Capture athlete feedback and event observations. Recommend operational and accessibility enhancements to the Global Adaptive Liaison.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Knowledge & Expertise: Foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and adaptive classifications in sport.

  • HYROX Familiarity: Familiarity with HYROX race flow, workouts, and standards (training will be provided). An understanding of movement adaptations for functional fitness is preferred.

  • Communication & Organization: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage event-based workflows (approx. 8-10 hours per month).

  • Mindset & Advocacy: A deep commitment to equity, inclusivity, and athlete advocacy within the sporting landscape.

  • Languages: English; additional languages are a plus.

  • Passion: A genuine love for sport, fitness, or live experiences, and a drive to make fitness accessible for everyone.
