DESCRIPTION
To support our HYROX UK & Ireland Team, we are looking for a committed Staffing Manager (m/f/d) to join us full time in our office in London.
As Staffing Manager you will coordinate the recruitment, planning, and management of teams required for HYROX events in UK & Ireland to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience for participants. This position is based in London and requires frequent travel to event locations across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, onboard, and retain a pool of crew for HYROX events across the UK & Ireland using our internal platform, Rosterfy.
- Manage communications with crew pre and post event.
- Attend all HYROX UK & Ireland events and manage crew onsite.
- Deliver crew scheduling and briefing, both virtual and in-person, to ensure readiness and alignment with HYROX standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all crew inquiries and communications, providing clear and timely information.
- Manage crew check-in, crew rewards, including distribution of uniform, patches, snacks and other materials.
- Work closely with the race director, sports and event services teams to align crew roles with event needs.
- Create recognition and retention strategies to build a positive, inclusive crew community.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and continuously improve the crew program
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years of experience in crew/volunteer/staff management for sports or cultural events (mass-participation preferred).
- Proven skills in coordinating diverse teams (volunteers, contractors, temp workers – approx. 50–200 per event).
- Strong people management with the ability to motivate and lead large groups.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate staffing needs.
- Clear and confident communicator – both written and verbal – in English.
- Comfortable solving problems and making quick decisions in high-pressure, live event environments.
- Proficiency in using scheduling tools and platforms (e.g. Rosterfy, Excel/Google Sheets).
- Understanding of recruitment and HR-related processes (especially for temporary staff).
- A collaborative mindset – willingness to travel and work in-person at all HYROX UK & Ireland events.
- Passion for sport and ideally familiarity with the HYROX competition format and community.
